Self-reliant training course inaugurated at Singair

MANIKGANJ, Jan 12, 2021 (BSS) – The government has taken massive programmes like training to make self-reliant unemployed youths.

For making the programmes a success, a 25-day long driving, 20-daylong computer operating and handicrafts work have been inaugurated today at the Singair upazila auditorium.

S M Ferdous, deputy commissioner of Manikganj, formally inaugurated the training programmes as the chief guest with Runa Layla, upazila upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Singair, in the chair.

Deputy Director of Local Government Fouzia Khan, Singair Upazila Women Affairs Officer Rowshan Ara and Upazila Vice-Chairman Sharmin Akter, among others, spoke on the occasion.

A total of 20 trainees are taking part in the 20-day computer training course, 20 are taking part in the 20-day handicrafts training course and 40 including 20 women are taking part in 25-day driving courses.

After successful completion of the programmes, the trainees will be given certificates and they will be able to conduct their self-reliant services for earning, the sources added.

In a separate function, the Deputy Commissioner distributed seven power tillers and a thrashing machine under the mechanization of agriculture for boosting the agri-production and develop the social economy to the seven co-operative societies of Singair upazila of the district under National Agricultural Technology Programmes Faze-2 (NATP-2).

Later, he distributed 1,300 blankets among the cold-hit poor people of 11 unions of Singair Upazila of the district.
