Court orders attachment of militant leader’s property in Niloy murder
trial
DHAKA, Jan 12, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today ordered attachment of
the properties of militant leader and sacked army Major Ziaul Haque in a case
lodged over the murder of blogger Niladri Chattopadhyay Niloy.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mandal passed the order and
set February 11 for submitting a report on execution of the order.
Earlier on October 6, 2020, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim
took the charge-sheet against 13 including banned militant outfit Ansarullah
Bangla Team (ABT) leader Zia.
The court on that day had also issued a warrant to arrest him.
The other accused are- Md Masum Rana, Sad Al Nahin, Md Kawser Hossain
Khan, Md Kamal Hossain Sarder, Mawlana Mufti Abdul Gaffar, Md Mortuja Foysal
Sabbir, Md Tarekul Alam alias Tarek, Khairul Islam alias Jamil alias Rifat,
Abu Siddiq, Mojammel Hossain Saimon, Md Arafat Rahman and Md Sheikh Abdullah
alias Jubayer.
Miscreants hacked Niloy to death in his Goran house in the capital on
August 7, 2015.
Niloy’s wife Ashamoni on the same day filed a murder case with Khilgaon
Police Station against four unidentified miscreants.
