Indonesia earns over 40 bln USD from tax in H1

JAKARTA, July 11, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – Indonesia earned some 581.5 trillion
rupiah (about 40.4 billion U.S. dollars) from tax in the first half of this
year, accounting for 40.84 percent of the whole-year target, with mining
sector contributing the highest growth, an official said here on Tuesday.

Taxation Director General at Indonesia’s Financial Ministry Robert
Pakpahan said the tax earnings in the first six months of this year was 13.9
percent higher than in the same period last year.

“If we look at it by sectors, the strongest growth was in mining sector at
79.71 percent. It was followed by farming sector at 34.25 percent, trade
sector at 27.91 percent and manufacture sector at 12.64 percent,” he said.

Indonesia Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati expected that the state
earnings may exceed this year;s target due to the positive economic situation
and currency exchange rate.
