3, 24769 children to be administered vitamin A in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, July 11, 2018 (BSS) – Around 3, 24769 children in the district
will be administered vitamin A capsule during National vitamin A plus
campaign on Saturday.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mumtakim Mahmud Saadi at an orientation workshop at
Dr Nazrul Islam conference room of the civil surgeon office today disclosed
the information.
Saadi said 37059 children aged from 6 month to 11 months will be
administered IU (International Unit) blue coloured vitamin A capsule while
2,87710 children aged from 12 months to 59 months will be fed IU red coloured
vitamin A capsule on the day in the district.
He said making the campaign successful, a total of 1692 centers have been
set up in the district.
District Health Superintendent at Civil Surgeon Office Khalilur Rahman and
Co-ordinator of Nutrition International Mahfuza Ruma, among others, spoke at
the orientation workshop.
