Agriculture Minister to hold meeting with M&M’s on farm mechanization
DHAKA, Jan 11, 2021 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque will hold a meeting with Indian automobile giant Mahindra and Mahindra Limited on virtual platform tomorrow regarding on farm mechanization investment in Bangladesh.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M’s)Pawan Kumar Goenka, M&M’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) President Hemant Sikka, its Bangladesh country head Rabin Kumar Das and other top officials will also join the meeting.
The meeting is being held as a follow-up of a digital conference held between Bangladesh and India last year.
In the digital conference on December 22 in 2020, Indian Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Railways Piyush Goyal on behalf of TATA Steal and Mahindra &Mahindra Limited had expressed keen interest on farm investment including agricultural mechanization, food processing and food value chain in Bangladesh.
The apex trade body Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) jointly organized the conference.
Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Indian Commerce and Industry Minister, Agriculture Secretary M Mesbahul Islam, Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami, FBCCI president Sheikh Fazley Fahim, CEO and Managing Director of TATA Steal T.V Narendran, M&M’s CEO and MD Pawan Kumar Goenka, CII’s Director General Chandrajit Banerjee and top business leaders of Bangladesh and India,among others, attended the conference.
