Husband to die for killing wife in Narail
NARAIL, Jan 11, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to death
for killing his wife at Chandpur village in Narail Sadar upazila in 2018.
District and Session Judge Munshi Moshiur Rahman handed down the verdict
to Enayet Mollah, 48, son of Intaz Mollah of Makrail-Kashipur village in
Lohagara upazila of the district, Additional Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate
Md Imdadul Islam said.
The court also fined him Taka one lakh.
According to prosecution, Enayet used to torture his wife Nargis for
dowry. On November 21, 2018, Enayet beat his wife. When Nargis died after
beating Enayet wrapped her in a sari and hung her on a branch of a mango tree
near the house.
After the incident, Baku Mollah, brother of the deceased, filed a case
against Enayet Mollah at Narail Sadar Police Station.
Police submitted charge sheet against him after investigation of the case.
After examining the record and witnesses, judge of district and session
court handed down the verdict in presence of Enayet Mollah.
