Four drug peddlers held with heroin, phensidyl in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 11, 2021 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in three separate anti-crime drives, arrested four alleged drug peddlers with 1.8 kilograms of heroin, 53 bottles of phensidyl and 32 cans of beer here last night.

According to the RAB sources, the arrested persons were identified as Mijanur Rahman, 22, son of Mesher Ali, Muhammad Linkon, 20, son of Sharif Uddin, Joynal Abedeen, 22, son of Aminul Islam and Muhammad Ratul, 25, son of Aslam Sheikh.

A team of the elite force, being informed, conducted a raid in Gopalpur area under Damkura Police Station and arrested Mijanur Rahman with 1.8 kilograms of heroin around 9.30 pm red-handed, RAB sources said here today.

Another RAB team arrested Linkon and Joynal with 53 bottles of phensidyl after conducting a raid in Hijalgachhi area under Godagari upazila around 9.15 pm.

Meanwhile, Ratul has been arrested with the beer canes from Meherchandi area under Chandrima Police Station around 9.50 pm.

Three separate cases were recorded with the respective police stations and the arrested persons along with the seized goods were handed over to police.
