29,866 patients so far cured from coronavirus in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 11, 2021 (BSS) – The total number of recovered patients from coronavirus by now rose to 29866 with the curing of 82 more people in the last 24 hours till this morning, an official said.
The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutives real- time PCR tests were found negative, he said.
A total of 29,784 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from Covid-19 and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 94.57 percent in the district, Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said.
The daily coronavirus (COVID-19) infection rate continued to decline during the last more than one-week in the district bringing relief to common people.
Dr Rabbi told BSS that a total of 117 new people were reported coronavirus positive today after testing 1387 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories here.
The daily infection rate is 8.43 percent today while it was 9.15 percent on Sunday, and 9.13 percent on Saturday.
Among the newly detected patients, 106 are from Chattogram city and 11 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 31578 in the district, Dr Rabbi said.
Among the total infected patients, 24,579 are the residents of the port city and the rest 7042 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district.
Dr Rabbi said that the death toll from the virus rose to 363 with one fatality reported afresh in the last 24 hours.
Among the 363 fatalities, 259 are from Chattogram city and 104 from different upazilas of the district.
A total of 1,938 infected patients were also undergoing treatment in designated hospitals in the port city.
