Mobile court fines owners of 10 brick kilns TK 16 lakh in Palashbari

GAIBANDHA, JAN 11, 2021 (BSS)- A mobile court in separate drives fined 10 brick kiln owners for violating existing rules of the government at different villages under Palashbari upazila in the district yesterday
.
Authorities fined a total of TK 16 lakh the owners of the 2 star-brick kilns and 3-star brick kilns of the upazila for running their businesses for not having brick burning licence from the district administration and clearance certificates of the department of the environment.

Executive magistrate of the deputy commissioner (DC) office SM Foyez Uddin led the drives of the court at the directives of the DC and also district magistrate Abdul Matin.

The court then fined the kiln owners for violating existing rules. The court also warned the convicts not to use fire-wood instead of coal, said the magistrate,

Then the three brick kilns were damaged by the bulldozers and other seven owners of the brick kilns were instructed to fulfil the conditions for running their business without delay.

A number of RAB forces of Gaibandha RAB camp led by lieutenant commander Abdullah AL Mamun and the officials of Directorate of the Environment accompanied the court during its drives.
