Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day observed in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS) – The Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in a befitting manner in the district today.
Marking the day, Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University arranged various programmes including discussion meeting.
A discussion meeting was held on the university campus with Dean of Science faculty of the University Professor Dr Sushanta Kumar Bhattachaya in the chair.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University Professor Dr Syed Samsudding Ahmed was present as the chief guest.
Earlier, the VC placed a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu and Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib. They also distributed blankets among the poor people on the campus.
On January 10 in 1972, Bangabandhu returned to the independent and sovereign Bangladesh after over nine and a half months’ captivity in a Pakistan jail.
