250 cold-hit elderly people get blankets in Kishoreganj upazila
RANGPUR, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS) – Some 250 clod-stricken poor, distressed, backward and physically challenged elderly people of Garagram union in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari district today got blankets to overcome their sufferings.
Organising Secretary of Bangladesh Awami Swechchasebak League (ASSL) Nafiul Karim Nafa distributed the blankets in a function held at Paschim Doliram village in the union from his own behalf to stand beside cold-hit people for mitigating their sufferings.
President of nearby Bahagili union unit of ASSL Tazul Islam, General Secretary of Kishoreganj Sadar union Enamul Haque, local Jubo League leaders Rashidul Islam Babu and Rezaul Karim and former Chhatra League leader Sohel Rana were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Nafa called upon the affluent people in the society and different social organisations to come forward and stand beside cold-hit people of rural areas in the upazila to mitigate their sufferings from the cold-bite.
