DHAKA, Jan 9, 2021 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud
today said cultural activities will have to be increased across the
country to thwart militancy and fundamentalism.
“The government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to develop
the minds of the people along with developing the country as there is
no alternative to build a developed nation,” he told the biennial
conference of Directors’ Guild (Television Drama Directors’
Organization) at Chithrashala auditorium of Shilpakala Academy in the
city.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, urged the people
with creativity to look at the country’s history, heritage and culture
while working in the field of drama, film and other cultural
activities.
Eminent cultural personalities Mamunur Rashid, M Hamid, Abhinoy
Shilpi Sangha president Shahiduzzaman Selim and Film Producer Samity
president Khorshed Alam Khasru, among others, spoke with Directors’
Guild president Salauddin Lablu in the chair.
General Secretary of the organization SA Haque Alik conducted it.
