DB arrests top terrorist Nuru in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 9, 2021 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of Chattogram Metropolitan police detained Nur Alam alias Nuru, a listed terrorist of the port city, from Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district on Friday night.
A joint team of DB and Akbar Shah Thana police arrested Nuru, accused in several cases in Chattogram, said DB Inspector Kamruzzaman.
At least 28 criminal cases including drug trading, hill cutting and timber smuggling were pending against him with different police stations in the city, Kamruzzaman added.
Besides, he was sentenced to 17 years in prison in an arms case in 2019.
