Rezaul for public-private partnership to ensure development

DHAKA, Jan 9, 2021 (BSS)- Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim MP today called for reinforcing government management along with private industrial sector with a view to developing the country.

“Government management side by side private industrial sector must carry forward. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has given huge opportunities to set up many industries on public-private partnership’ the minister said.

We have taken various pragmatic steps including facilitation of incentives and cash assistance during the COVID -19 pandemic to grassroots farmers in the fisheries and livestock sector so that their lives can’t be put in danger,” he said.

The minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a high-tech dairy farm and production of ‘Bakara’ pasteurized milk and dairy products at Badarganj in Rangpur as the chief guest at the initiative of private agro-based company Eon Group.

The minister further said lion portion of the food demand is supplied by the Fisheries and Livestock Sector and assured of giving all possible assistance of the agro-based company like Eon Group.

He lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s various initiatives undertaken in fisheries and livestock sector and asked the government officials to extend their whole hearted cooperation and stand beside the private sector discarding the rad tapes procedures.

“There will be all support from the government for those who will work in the fisheries and livestock sector with initiatives like the Eon Group.”

With Eon Group of Industries Chairman Momin Ud Dowlah in the chair, the function was attended, among others, by Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Raunak Mahmud and Dr Abdul Jabbar Sikder, Director General, Department of Livestock Services as special guests.
