Ctg now on super highway of development: Rezaul Karim Chy

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 8, 2021 (BSS) – Promising to present a smart city
before the city dwellers, Awami League (AL) nominated mayoral
candidate M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said today that Chattogram is now
on the super highway of development due to the dynamic leadership of
Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“I want your votes in favor of my party symbol ‘boat’ for further
development of the port city Chattogram,” he said.

He made the appeal before formal launching of election campaign of
upcoming Chattogram City Corporation by offering Juma prayers at the
Bahaddar Bari Jame Mosque in Bahaddarhat and visiting the graves of
his parents and ancestors at his family graveyard.

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, like
Bangabandhu, has properly evaluated the immense potential of
Chattogram realizing its natural beauty and economy, with unique
combination of mountains, plains, seas and rivers.

“None could have evaluated Chattogram in that way. During the
tenure of other regimes, Chattogram remained a neglected city,” he
alleged.

He said that the late leader ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury had opened a
new door of development in Chattogram when he was first elected mayor.

“Despite extreme non-cooperation of the then BNP government, he
signaled the unimaginable development of Chattogram by creating income
generating projects in the city corporation,” he said.

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said as a soldier of Bangabandhu’s ideology,
a freedom fighter and a close associate of Mohiuddin Chowdhury he
would make Chattogram a transparent and smart city by applying 100%
modern facilities.

He also promised that city dwellers will easily get all kinds of
modern services if he is elected once.

He was accompanied by AL Ctg general secretary and former mayor AJM
Nasir Uddin, organizing secretary Noman Al Mahmud, AL leader Shamsul
Alam, Juba League leader Farid Mahmud and other leaders and workers of
city AL.

The Chattogram City Corporation election, which was postponed due to
Corona, will be held on January 27.
