Awareness workshop against infectious diseases held in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Jan 7, 2021 (BSS) – Physicians at a workshop today emphasized the need for creating massive awareness among the people so that they could spontaneously follow the health guidelines designed by the government to check wider social transmission of Coronavirus.

The ministry of health and family welfare with the help of district health department organized the workshop on “Awareness on prevention of COVID-19 and Dengue diseases” for local journalists at the official conference room of Netrakona civil surgeon here.

Chaired by civil surgeon Netrakona Dr. Salim Miah, the workshop was addressed, among others, by deputy civil surgeon Dr. Toufik Ahmed, district health education officer Jan-E-Alam, vice president of Netrakona press club Abdul Hannan Ranjan, general secretary of Netrakona press club Shyamolendu Paul and journalist M Faqrul Haque.

In his speech, civil surgeon Dr. Salim Mia urged journalists to play their important role to let the people know about the necessity of abiding by the health safety rules including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing to save them from the COVID-19 and Dengue diseases.

A total of 35 local journalists from different national dailies, news agencies and electronic media participated in the workshop.
