Owners to ensure labourers nutrition facilities – Monnujan

KHULNA, Jan 6, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian has said mills and factory owners should come forward to ensure labourers nutrition facilities.

“Production will be enhanced in the factories while on duty labourers have nutritious food facilities,” She made the remarks yesterday while addressing a regional motivational meeting to ensure labourers nutrition facilities held at a city hotel as chief guest.

Ministry of Labour and Global Alliance for Improve Nutrition (GAIN) jointly organised the meeting.

The state Minister said industry is the key of success of development and it’s depend on labourers hand.

Remembering Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for attaching utmost importance to nutrition facilities for poor as per Bangladesh constitution, the minister asked officials of the Directorate of factories and institution to work cordially between owners and labourers.

Khulna city Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque addressed the meeting as special guest while Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Uddin in the chair.

The meeting was addressed, by Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Ismail Hossain, Country Director of Gain Bangladesh Dr Hudaba Khondkar, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Health Dr Monjurul Morshed, Joint Inspector General of Factory and Institution Inspection Department Dr Mostafizur Rahman and Director of Directorate of Labour in Khulna division Mizanur Rahman. Programme manager of GAIN Bangladesh Moniruzzaman Bipul presented keynote paper.

Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is working with the Directorate of Factories and Institutions under the Ministry of Labour and Employment to ensure labourers nutrition through a MoU .
