BCL celebrates 73rd founding anniversary in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 4, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL)
celebrated its 73rd founding anniversary here today with colourful
programmes and a renewed pledge to realise Bangabandhu’s dream of
building a developed Sonar Bangla.

Leaders of the district and city units of BCL hoisted the national
and party flags, cut cakes, played Bangabandhu’s Historic March 7
Speech, placed wreaths at the portrait and mural of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman followed by a discussion.

Hundreds of leaders and activists of BCL participated in the daylong
colourful programmes arranged in the city strictly abiding by the
health directives in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Later, they participated in the programmes broadcasted virtually by
the Central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League from the capital
city.

Acting President of district BCL Suman Sarker presided over the
discussion moderated by its Rakibul Hassan Kanon at its office in the
city.

Vice-presidents of district BCL Atik Hasan and Shariful Islam, its
Joint General Secretaries Masud Ahmed and Sohel Rana Sony, Organizing
Secretaries SM Sabbir Ahmed and Belal Hossain Apel, Office Secretary
Alamin Hossain Tutul were present.

The BCL leaders renewed their pledge to further strengthen the
hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and resist all evil and
anti-liberations forces for building a developed Bangladesh by 2041
free from drugs, corruption, terrorism and militancy.

Rakibul Hassan Kanon recalled the glorious pasts of BCL and urged
its leaders and activists to work with the ideals of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in building a developed
‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by him.

He suggested the BCL leaders to serve common people selflessly with
patriotic zeal and contribute to build a technologically advanced
developed Bangladesh for making independence meaningful for every
citizen.

Suman Sarkar said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman, the greatest Bangalee of all time, founded BCL on January 4,
1948 when the organisation started its journey from Dhaka University’s
Curzon Hall on that day.

“The history of Chhatra League is the history of establishing the
language rights of the nation, realising the dream of attaining
liberation, snatching the red sun of freedom and making the struggle
for the progress of democracy a reality,” he said.
