Scouts distribute blankets among cold-hit people in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 4, 2021 (BSS) – The district unit of Bangladesh Scouts with
assistance of the district administration distributed blankets among 200
cold-stricken people today at Zila School ground in the city.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan distributed the blankets among cold-
stricken poor, distressed and disabled people at a function this evening as
the chief guest with Rangpur District Scout Commissioner Siddiqur Rahman in
the chair.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Shahnaz Begum,
Headmaster of Rangpur Zila School AR Mizanur Rahman, General Secretary of
Rangpur District Scouts Md. Zakiul Islam, its Assistant Director Shudhir
Chandra Barman, Leader Trainer Aleya Khatun, District Scouts Leader Rafikul
Haque Babu and District Cab Scouts Leader Shamim Ara Sheema, among others,
were present.

The speakers said there is no alternative to scout activities to become
good people with good character and excellent leadership qualities for
standing beside the suffering humanity to build a decent future for the
nation.

The chief guest lauded the initiative of distributing blankets among cold-
hit people by scouts to stand beside them especially during the centenary
birthday celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman in the Mujib Barsho 2020.

He urged all affluent citizens, political, sociocultural and professional
organisations, trade bodies and financial institutions to stand beside the
cold-stricken people and mitigate their sufferings during the ongoing cold
wave.
