JUJA held virtual get together programme

SAVAR, Jan 3, 2021 (BSS) – A virtual get together of former and current members of Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association (JUJA) was held on Saturday night.

Presided over by JUJA president Md. Asaduz Zaman and moderated by JUJA secretary MahbubAlam, the programme began around 8.30 pm.

Conducted by Maruf Mallick, JUJA general secretary of 2001 session, a reminiscing event was held at the end of the introductory session.

Anisur Rahman Babu, managing editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and former president of JU Journalists’ Association, Ekramul Karim, a first batch student of the university, Syed Abdal Ahmed, executive editor of Amar Desh and former general secretary of JUJA, Masud Hasan Khan, journalist of BBC Bangla and former president of JUJA and Kazi Zakir Hossain, general secretary of JUJA Alumni, among others, shared their memories of campus life at the event.

Meanwhile, popular musician Shabnam Mustari Priyanka, a 3rd year student of Economics department of the university, rendered songs on the occasion.

Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association (JUJA), recognized as the first university campus based journalist organization in independent Bangladesh, was established on 3 April 1972. Since then, the organization has been playing various roles in the progress of the university.
