4.63 lakh students get new books in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Jan 1, 2021 (BSS) – The government will provide textbooks among 4.63 lakh primary and secondary level studentsin the district.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Md. Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury inaugurated the secondary level book distribution at Nilphamari Government High School at around 11 am and primary level book distribution at Nilphamari Government Primary School at 12 noon today.

Md. Golam Rabbani, headmaster of the Nilphamari Government Primary School, presided over the secondary level book distribution ceremony while District Primary Education Officer Md. Nabej Uddin Sarkar presided over primary level book distribution ceremony.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Azaharul Islam, Nilphamari Municipality Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed, District Secondary Education Officer Shafiqul Islam and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Elina Akhter, among others, were present.

At the inaugural function, new books were distributed among 20 ninth grade students at the secondary level and 100 students at the primary level.

A total of 35 lakh 2 thousand 657 books will be distributed among two lakh 73 thousand 784 students at the secondary level and 17 lakh 250 books will be distributed among one lakh 89 thousand 760 students at the primary level in the district.
