JS body for commission to bring masterminds of Bangabandhu’s assassination to book
DHAKA, Dec 31, 2020 (BSS) – The Standing Committee on Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs today recommended formation of a commission to identify and bring the masterminds and colluders behind the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to justice.
The formation of commission was extended at 13th meeting of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here today.
The committee watchdog also recommended for appointment of adequate number of judges to expedite the trial.
The committee also suggested to set up adequate number of laboratories for DNA test in rape cases and dope tests for drug detection.
Committee Members Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Md Shamsul Haque Tuku, Md Abdul Majid Khan, Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker, Gloria Jharna Sarker, Begum Rumeen Farhana and Khodeza Nasreen Akhter Hossain joined the meeting with its chairman Abdul Matin Khasru in the chair.
The meeting was also attended by the secretaries of the Law , Justice and Parliament divisions and the concerned officials of the Parliament Secretariat and the law ministry.
