Next testimony on Abrar murder case on 5 January

DHAKA, Dec 31, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today fixed January 5 next year for taking evidence in the murder case of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad.

The judge of the Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Abu Zafar Kamruzzaman set the date.

BUET Professor Abdul Adnan and Image Specialist (CID) Inspector of Police Akhteruzzaman have been testified before the court today.

After the testimony, the accused were cross-examined by the lawyers.

Out of a total of 60 witnesses in the case, 44 have been testified.

The body of second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of BUET, Abrar Fahad’s was recovered from the corridor between the ground floor and second floor stairs of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of BUET on October 7, 2019

The next day , the autopsy of Abrar was completed at the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital morgue.

The victim’s father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case with Chawkbazar police station.

Twenty-two of the accused – now in jail were produced before the tribunal in today’s hearing.

Three others have been absconding since the case was filed.

On September 15, Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Judge Abu Zafar Kamruzzaman framed charges against the accused.
