Abducted baby rescued in Natore after a week
NATORE, Dec 31, 2020 (BSS) – A female child allegedly lifted from Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex was rescued today in Baraigram Upazila in the district after a week.
Natore police arrested a woman identified as Shakila Khatun in this regard.
Shakila is an inhabitant at Terail village in Baraigram Upazila.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Liton Kumar Shah at a press conference at Gurudaspur Thana said they conducted a raid in Kalikapur area in Baraigram Upazila this morning and rescued female baby Tyeba and later was handed over to her mother Shima, hailed from Moshinda Majpara in Gurudaspur upazila.
SP Liton said Shakila lifted the girl as she gave her new born baby girl but sold to a NGO activist for poverty two months ago. “But her truck driver husband insisted on getting back the baby. For this reason Shakila has lifted Tyeba from hospital”.
Shakila was sent to Natore jail.
