DMP’s instructions on vehicles movement from evening

DHAKA, Dec 31, 2020 (BSS) – On the eve of the English New Year
celebrations in a safe and peaceful manner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police
(DMP) has issued a set of directives on vehicles movement from this
evening.

The DMP also requested the residents of Gulshan, Banani and
Baridhara areas to return home before 8:00pm through Kamal Ataturk
Avenue (Kakoli Crossing) and Mohakhali Amtoli crossing on December 31.

People intend to enter Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara areas from
8:00pm will not allowed to use Mohakhali areas-Phoenix road crossing,
Banani Road No-11 crossing, Chairman Bari crossing, Dhaka Gate,
Shooting Club, Badda Link Road, DOHS Baridhara-United Hospital
crossing and Natunbazar crossing. But anyone will be able to go
outside from these routes.

As per the directives, vehicles of the teachers and residents of
Dhaka University will be allowed to enter the DU campus through
Shahbagh crossings from 6pm to 6am by displaying identity cards.

No vehicles will be allowed to enter TSC, Romana Square, Dhaka
Medical Center, Jagannath Hall crossing, Sculpture crossing, Palashi
crossing, Bakshi Bazar crossing, Doel Chattar crossing and Shahidullah
Hall crossing but these crossings can be used for exit only.

Vehicles of the teachers and residents of Dhaka University will be
allowed to enter the DU campus through Shahbagh crossing only.

Legal actions will be taken against those who will drive motor
vehicles recklessly, in a state of drunk and risky conditions, the
instruction said.
