Husband, wife killed in Cumilla train crash
CUMILLA, Dec 30, 2020 (BSS) – A man and his wife were killed and two others including their daughter injured as a good laden train crushed a CNG run auto rickshaw at a rail level crossing in the town this morning.
The deceased was identified as Farid Munshi, 50, his wife Peara Begum, 45 an inhabitant of Gazaria village in Debidwar Upazila of the district,
The critically injured daughter Akhi, 16, and CNG driver Rakibul, 25, were sent to Dhaka for improved treatment .
Sub Inspector Md Ismail Hossain of Railway police said the accident occurred at Shashangacha rail crossing at around 7 am .
Farid Munshi was declared dead at Cumilla Medical College Hospital while his wife Peara succumbed to her injuries on way to Dhaka.
Farid Munshi’s elder brother said Farid was sick. He met the tragic accident while going to Cumilla for treatment.
