New transport office inaugurated at JU
SAVAR, Dec 30, 2020 (BSS) – The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Wednesday inaugurated a newly constructed transport depot and office in the university’s Bishmail bazar area.
Vice chancellor of JU professor Farzana Islam inaugurated the depot and office through a virtual platform amid COVID-19 pandemic.
While addressing the program, the VC said, “The authorities so far have attached three buses, four air-conditioned minibus, six micro bus, two jeeps, a pic-up van and an ambulance to the university’s transport pool to reduce the suffering of the teachers and students.”
Pro-vice chancellor (admin) professor Amir Hussain, Pro vice chancellor (academic) professor NurulAlam, acting registrar RahimaKaniz, acting teacher of the university’s transport office professor Ali Azam Talukdar addressed the inauguration program, among others.
Professor Ali AzamTalukdar, acting teacher of the university’s transport office said the university administration will install a pump inside the campus as part of their next step of development activities.
The transport office will initiate the online requisition process and arrange workshops for the bus drivers and staff in order to make an international standard transport pool, he added.
