Stringent security measure on 31st night in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 30, 2020 (BSS) – Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and district police here have taken up special security measures on the occasion of 31st night.

Meanwhile, CMP commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir told at a meeting of law and order at CMP headquarters recently any kinds of indiscipline will not be tolerated and all types of outside programs of cultural events have been prohibited on 31st night.

About 2500 Police and RAB forces will be deployed at 121 points all over the city including Patenga sea beach to resist any indiscipline on the eve of the New Year.

CMP sources said they will also set up 32 check-posts in different strategic places in the metropolis.

No outside programs to celebrate the 31st night will be allowed rather inside programs of the hotels and clubs.

A senior police official of CMP said, check post will be set up in key points of the city from 30th night for tightening the security measures.

Special check posts to be set up at all entry points – City Gate, Shah Amanat Bridge point, Kalurghat and Madunaghat bridge point to check the suspected persons.

About 800 police forces will be deployed in Patenga and Parki beach to avoid any nuisances and to resist the unsocial activities.

RAB sources said they will deploy its 250 personnel in Chattogram, to cautiously monitor the city areas.

Chattogram district police will also keep vigil from Dec 30 by deploying over 1,550 police personnel at important places including upazila headquarters under its jurisdictions on this occasion, district police officials said.

CMP and RAB sources said they would remain vigil regarding the security issues and ensure safety to the people in the area on New Year celebration.
