One killed, five injured in Gopalganj road accident
GOPALGANJ, Dec 28, 2020 (BSS) – A village doctor was killed and five others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a battery- run easy bike in the BSCIC Bridge area of the district today.
The dead was identified as Tarun Kanti Sarkar, 50, son of Ranjit Sarkar of Durgapur village under Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat district.
Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam said Tarun Kanti Sarkar was going to the district town from the police lines on an easy bike. The easy bike collided head-on with a passenger bus of Tungipara Express coming from the opposite direction.
Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons and sent them to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for treatment, the OC added.
