None will remain homeless in country: minister

MOULVIBAZAR, Dec 27, 2020 (BSS) – Environment, Forests and Climate Change
Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said no one will remain homeless in
Bangladesh.

“None will remain homeless in the country as the present government, led by
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is gradually providing houses to the country’s
homeless people through various programmes,” he said.

The environment minister told this while visiting construction work of 50
concrete houses being built in Baralekha upazila for the landless, homeless
people under the disaster-tolerant housing project marking the Mujib Year.

Shahab Uddin said when almost the entire world is struggling to control
coronavirus situation, Bangladesh has been able to contain the outbreak of
the deadly virus and its (country’s) development activities did not stop.

The minister urged the rich people of the society to stand by the helpless
and homeless people amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar Nahid Ahsan, Baralekha Upazila Parishad
chairman Md Shoeb Ahmed, Baralekha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shamim Al
Imran, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md Ubaid Ullah Khan and other
concerned officials accompanied the minister during his visit.
