DHAKA, Dec 25, 2020 (BSS) – Political analyst Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury passed away in predawn hours today at BIRDEM Hospital in Dhaka as he was suffering from diabetes and kidney diseases. He was 72.
Family sources said doctors declared him dead as Chowdhury rushed to the facility at 2.15 am apparently following a heart attack while he was already suffering from kidney ailments coupled with diabetes.
A 1971 veteran Chowdhuryy was buried at the family graveyard in Nangalmora village of Chittagong’s Hathazari Upazila, his birthplace, after a Namaj-e-Janazah around 4.30 pm today.
Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, and several grandchildren.
A former student leader Chowdhury was related to the then Awami League’s student wing and subsequently in national politics while appeared as a columnist contributing to various national dailies and online portals about politics and international affairs.
