Sonali Bank, Navy notch win in V-day hockey
DHAKA, Dec 23, 2020 (BSS) – Sonali Bank SRC and Bangladesh Navy won their respective matches of the Victory Day Hockey Competition held today (Wednesday) at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city.
In the day’s first match, Sonali Bank blanked the Bangladesh Police team by 4-0 goals with Puskar Khisa Mimo struck twice while Shofiul Alom Shishir and Taher Ali netted one goal each for Sonali Bank.
In the day’s second match, Bangladesh Navy defeated Bangladesh Army by 5-3 goals.
In the day’s match, Ashraful Islam scored three goals while he was well supported by Mahbub Hossain and Abed Uddin.
On the other hand, Abdul Malek, Ahsan Habib and Monoj Babu netted one goal apiece for Bangladesh Army.
Organised by Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF), a total of five teams are taking part in the competition, which is being held to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The participating teams are Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Police and Sonali Bank RRC.
The top two teams will play for the final scheduled to be held on December 27.
