DHAKA, Dec 23, 2020 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in two separate drives in city’s Gulistan and Konapara areas, today arrested six alleged drug peddlers with two kilograms of cocaine worth about Taka 60 crore.
RAB-10 commanding officer (CO) Additional DIG Mahfuzur Rahman told BSS that six people with two kg of cocaine were arrested from Gulistan and Konapara areas of the capital.
“The estimated market price of the recovered contraband item is about Taka 60 crore,” he added.
Nine mobile cell phone sets and Taka 2,280 in cash were also recovered from their possessions.
The detainees were identified as Md Sultan Hasan, 50, Md Hannan, 35, Mohammad Ujjal, 28, Uday Das 52, Shree Palash Dey, 56, and Md Firoz Alam Khan, 50.
Legal actions were taken against those in this connection, the RAB officer said.
