Pregnant woman among two die in Noakhali road mishap
NOAKHALI, Dec 23, 2020 (BSS) – Two persons, including a nine-month-pregnant woman, were killed and another was injured in a road accident on Ramganj-Chowmuhani road under Chatkhilupazillahere this morning.
The deceased Sultana Akter, 19, and Idris Miah, 45, and injured Saleha Akter, 60, were the residents of East ShoshaliaKathia Bari area of the upazila.
Locals said Sultana along with her mother Saleha was going to Chatkhil Hospital for check-up on a buttery-run auto rickshaw.
When the autorickshaw reached 11th pole area, a brick-laden tractor rammed it, leaving Saleha and Idris dead on the spot.
“Bodies of the two deceased have been recovered and the injured Saleha was taken to Noakhali General Hospital. We have seized the tractor but its driver managed to escape,” Chatkhil Police Station officer in-charge Md Anwarul Islam told BSS.
A case has been filed in this regard.
