President mourns death of freedom fighter Adv Mojammel Ratan

DHAKA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of valiant freedom fighter, Kishoreganj district unit president of National Awami Party (NAP) Advocate Mojammel Haque Khan Ratan.

In a condolence message, President Hamid recalled the contribution of Ratan, also former general secretary of Kishoreganj Lawyers Association, with due respect, saying, “He played a very significant role to establish justice for people as a lawyer.”

The head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Ratan, also a central leader of the left-leaning party NAP, breathed his last at a city hospital at about 1.30 am today at the age of 73.

He had been suffering from diabetics, pressure and heart disease since long.

Ratan left behind his wife, one son, two daughters, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Mojammel Haque will be buried at his family graveyard at Nikli Upazila in Kishoreganj district.
