Science & technology fair held in Gobindaganj

GAIBANDHA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) – A daylong national science and technology fair-2020 was held on the premises of Dakhil Madrasha under Gobindaganj upazila town in the district on Monday amid much enthusiasm to the students, the teachers and the visitors.

Upazila administration arranged the fair under the supervision of National Museum of Science and Technology at the directive of the Ministry of Science and Technology marking the National Science and Technology Week.

The objectives of the fair are to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people and display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare.

To give an opportunity to the scientific minded citizens in the country and to encourage the people as well as popularize the Science and Technology to them are other objectives of the fair.

An inaugural function was also held at the hall room of the madrasa in the morning with UNO Ramkrishna Barman in the chair.

Lawmaker Monower Hossain Chowdhury inaugurated the fair virtually as the chief guest from Dhaka, upazila chairman Abdul Latif Prodhan addressed the function as the special guest.

Moderated by upazila academic supervisor Feroz Alim, the function was also addressed among others by upazila secondary education officer Shah Alam Sarker, acting principal of the madrasha Abdul Aziz Sarker, general secretary of Gobindaganj Press Club Jahidul Prodhan Tuku, lecturer of Gobindaganj Women’s College Rezaul Karim Rizu,

Monower Hossain Chowdhury, MP, in his speeches through mobile phone said our society and nation were being benefited much from the science and this fair would undoubtedly contribute utmost to create scientifically enlightened nation.

Later, the guests formally distributed the prizes to the winners who set up stalls in the fair and witnessed the projects of the stall owners.
