Hasan suggests BNP to wear red badge by seeking apology for killing people

DHAKA, Dec 21, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud
today suggested BNP to wear red badge after seeking apology from the
countrymen for killing people through arson attack instead of wearing
black badge for border killing.

“BNP is telling to wear black badge in the name of stopping border
killing. I would like to urge BNP to analyse the statistics of border
killing when they were in power and what is now,” he told a memorial
meeting at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in the city.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organized the meeting in memory
of Awami League leaders Abdur Razzak and Mohiuddin Chowdhury.

Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Deputy
Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Nahim
Razzak, MP, JPC president Saiful Alam and AL leader Boloram Poddar
addressed the meeting as special guests with BSJ advisor Lion
Chittaranjan Das in the chair.

Journalist Samiran Roy also addressed the meeting while BSJ general
secretary Arun Sarker Rana conducted it.

Hasan said currently the border killing has been decreased compared
to the BNP regime. “And our government is trying to bring the border
killing to zero and meeting between the border guards of the two
countries will be held tomorrow,” he added.

The minister urged BNP to wear red badge after seeking apology from
the countrymen for killing people through petrol bombs attack and for
killing soldiers by BNP’s founder Ziaur Rahman. People have not been
killed nowhere in the contemporary world by petrol bombs for political
reasons, he added.

He said there is a conspiracy behind it as the party which burned
people to death, and now wears black badges for border killings. “We
should remain alert against them,” said Hasan, also Awami League joint
general secretary.

Referring to a comment of BNP leader Major Hafiz, the information
minister said a vice chairman of BNP has told that there was trade
deal

while forming district level committee of BNP. If the party, which
did business while forming committees of their party, gets the
responsibility of the country then they can sell the state for the
trade. The party (BNP) and the country as well are not safe to their
hand, he added.

Replying to a comment of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam
Alamgir, the minister said they (BNP) ran parallel government by
setting up ‘Hawa Bhaban’ to collect toll like British who established
Kuthibari for collecting toll. Besides, ‘Khoab Bhaban’ was built for
entertainment, he added.

“During your (BNP) regime, grenade attack was carried out on August
21, bombs attacks were also carried out at 500 places and the country
became champions for five times in corruption. Think about where you
have taken the country through corruption and misrule. Don’t make fun
to people anymore,” said Hasan.

In the beginning of his speech, the minister paid rich tributes to
the late two leaders.

He said the contribution of late general secretary of Awami League
Abdur Razzak will be written with golden letters in the history of the
party for organising it (AL).

He said late Mohiuddin Chowdhury was a leader of masses and popular
mayor of Chattogram. The leaders are unique examples of leaderships,
he added.
