RANGPUR, Dec 21, 2020 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 today seized 77 kg of smuggled ganja with a private car and arrested an alleged drug trader from Paglapeer Bazar on the Rangpur-Saidpur highway in Taraganj upazila of the district.
“On a tip off, a special operational team of RAB-13 searched the suspected car and arrested the person with contraband goods,” said a press release issued here by Media Officers of RAB-13 Major Abdullah Al Moyeen Hassan.
During the raid, the elite force seized the smuggled ganja secretly put inside the private car.
The arrested person is Nur Nabi Islam, 32, son of Belal Hossain of village Kurushaferusha in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district.
“During interrogation, the arrested person admitted that he had been involved in drug trading for a long time and tactfully carrying the ganja from northern frontier areas to supply those to different districts,” the release added.
After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the arrested drug trader to Taraganj police station in Rangpur today.
