Four mayor candidates submit nomination papers in Monohardi municipality polls
NARSINGDI, Dec 21, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 4 mayor candidates have submitted their nomination papers to the respective election officer for contesting Monohardi pourashava election in the district.
The four mayor contestants are – Awami League (AL) nominated candidate AL Aminur Rashid Shujan, present mayor and joint general secretary of Monohardi upazila, BNP candidate Mahamudul Hoque, joint convener of Monohardi upazila BNP, Islami Andalon Bangladesh candidate Abdul Manan and independent candidate Emran Ahmed.
They submitted their nomination papers on Sunday.
Besides, seven women candidates submitted nomination papers for contesting three reserved women counsellor posts and 31 candidates for nine ward counselor posts.
Nomination papers will be scrutinized on December 22 and the last date of the withdrawal of candidature is 29 December.
The election to Monohardi pourashava will be held on January 16.
