President mourns death of former Bangla Academy DG Manzoor Mawla
DHAKA, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former director general of Bangla Academy and poet Manzoor Mawla.
In a condolence message, the President said, “The death of Manzoor Mawla is an irreparable loss to the country’s literary arena.”
The head of the state prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Manzoor Maula served as the secretary of various ministries. He died at the United Hospital in Dhaka around 11am today.
He was admitted to the hospital on December 5 after being diagnosed with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) infection.
