MEHERPUR, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – Bir Muktijoddha Alhaj Abdul Bari Biswas was buried with full state honour at his family graveyard in Sadar upazila of the district today.
Alhaj Abdul Bari Biswas was an inhabitant of the village Sahaji Para of Meherpur town.
He was buried at his family graveyard with full state honour after a namaz-e-janaza at Jhaubaria Government Primary School ground around 11.30am.
A guard of honour was also given to the body of the deceased.
Meherpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Masudul Alam covered the body of the deceased with a national flag and laid wreaths.
Meherpur Zilla Parishad Chairman Golam Rasool, former Upazila Awami League secretary Abdur Rob Biswas, former Upazila Commander Abul Kashem, Bir Muktijoddhas and people of all walks of life were present.
Abdul Bari Biswas died of old-age complications at his residence in Sahaji Para of Meherpur town on Saturday evening at the age of 73.
He is survived by a son, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers.
