Youth department makes over 33,500 Narsingdi youths self-reliant

NARSINGDI, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – Department of Youth Development (DYD) made over 33,500 youths self-reliant by providing training and loan for the last 27 years since its inception in the district, an official said.

Additional Deputy Director at Department of Youth Development, Narsingdi, Amir Ali told BSS that his department imparted institutional training to 17800 and non- institutional training to 42500 youth (both male and female) on different trades in the district during 27 years last.

The training courses include dress making, block-batic, printing, dairy and poultry farming, pisciculture, computer course, electronics course, electrical and house wiring, refrigerator and air condition course, plumbing, nursery and agricultural subject.
Ali said the department so far provided easy term loan of about TK 10 crore to 29500 youths trained on different income generation activities.

He said over 33,500 youths in the six upazilas of the district are now self-reliant by taking loans and trainings from DYD.
