BLANKET-DISTRIBUTION
34960 blankets distributed among Jamalpur cold-hit people
JAMALPUR, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – District administration has so far distributed 34960 blankets among the cold-hit poor people in the district this year.
District relief and rehabilitation office sources said a total of 34960 blankets were handed over among cold-stricken people in 68 unions and 8 municipalities in seven Upazilas of the district.
They said 4140 blankets were dispensed in Dewanganj Upazila, 5980 in Islampur, 7360 in Jamalpur Sadar, 3680 in Madarganj, 5980 in Melandah, 4140 in Sarishabari and 3680 in Bakshiganj Upazila.
District relief and rehabilitation officer Md Nayeb Ali said the disaster management and relief ministry also allotted a total of Tk 42 lakh, (Tk 6 lakh for each upazila) in the district for purchasing more blankets to distribute among the cold-hit distressed people.
