NETRAKONA Dec 17, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister For Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today said present government has undertaken many social safety net programs for improving living condition of the country’s poor people.
“The government at the directives of prime minister Sheikh Hasina continued widening the social safety net areas to help the poverty-stricken people for improving their socio-economic condition”, Khasru said.
Khasru said this while distributing financial assistance to the patients of different deadly diseases like cancer, heart and liver at local public hall here.
Khasru disbursed cheques amounting to TK 1,68,50,000 to 337 patients of the district.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Netrakona Kazi Abdur Rahman, the distribution ceremony was addressed, among others, by Mayor of Netrakona Municipality Nazrul Islam Khan, Additional Superintendent Of Police Fakruzzaman Jewel, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Netrakona sadar Ershadul Ahmed, Deputy Director Of District Social Service Department Mohammad Alal Uddin and Office Secretary of district Awami League Mazharul Islam and General Secretary of Netrakona press club Shamolendu Paul.
