Freedom fighter Abdur Rauf passes away
DHAKA, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – Valiant freedom fighter and one of the organizers of the country’s Liberation War in 1971 Abdur Rauf Khan has died of a stroke in the city.
Rauf breathed his last on Saturday at the age of 80 while he was staying at the residence of his elder son Dr Abdur Razzaque Khan, Associate Professor of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University, family sources today.
He left behind his wife, two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Born in 1940 in Tangail district, Rauf was laid to eternal rest at the Azimpur graveyard in the city.
His family members requested all relatives, friends and well-wishers to pray for eternal peace of the departed soul of Rauf after reciting from the Holy Quran on Friday next.
