DHAKA, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the pledge of the Day of Victory is to eliminate the anti-liberation forces.

“Bangladesh is moving ahead indomitably to materialize the dream of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the leadership of his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

He said Bangabandhu could not materialize his dream as he was assassinated only after three and a half years of independence, now the country is moving forward under the leadership of his worthy daughter.

The minister made the comments after paying rich tribute at the portrait of Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at Dhanmondi 32 No. in the city marking the Victory Day.

Hasan said now Bangladesh has left behind Pakistan in all indexes and neighboring India in two indexes- Human Index and Social Index. And here is the success of Bangabandhu and his daughter, he added.

But, he said, the anti-liberation forces boast time to time even after 49 years of the victory. And its main reason is Begum Khaleda Zia’s BNP which was founded by Ziaur Rahman, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.

The minister said BNP made Jamaat-e-Islami as their ally which party fought on the side of Pakistani during the War of Liberation. “BNP is doing politics and dreaming to turn the country into Pakistan again, a Taliban state, along with those who didn’t want the independence of Bangladesh and who didn’t believe in sovereignty of the country. It is really very regrettable, he added.

“For this, on the day of Victory, it is our pledge to resist the conspiracies and to eliminate the anti-liberation forces,” said Hasan.
