Victory Day being celebrated in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – The 50th Victory Day is being celebrated in a befitting manner in the district.
The day’s programme started with 31 gun salute and hoisting the national flag at all government and non-government buildings after the sun rises.
Wreaths were placed at the altar of the monument of the martyred freedom fighters in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the town.
Around 9:30 am, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Monzurul Hafiz hoisted the national flag officially at Bangabandhu Manch on his office premises.
Committee of the Concerned Citizens (CCC) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Chapainawabganj arranged a virtual discussion meeting.
Balugram Adarsha Degree College also organised a discussion meeting at Principal Belal Uddin auditorium with the Principal of the college Md. Matiur Rahman in the chair.
Exim Bank Agricultural University Bangladesh (EBAUB) held virtual discussion and cultural function.
Bangladesh Shishu Academy arranged online drawing competition for children.
Improved diet was served at the jail, hospitals, government and non-government orphanages and old homes.
Special prayers were offered at mosques and other worshipper places for the salvation of the departed souls of the martyred freedom fighters, seeking good health of the wounded war heroes and national peace, prosperity and development.
Similar programmes were held in all upazilas of the district.
District administration will arrange a virtual meeting in the evening on the day.
