DHAKA, Dec 15, 2020 (BSS)- Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today virtually inaugurated the two-month long painting exhibition, based on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s life and works, from his office at Secretariat in the city.

UNB, a news agency, and Cosmos Gallery jointly organised the two-month long painting exhibition titled ‘Sheikh Hasina: On the Right Side of the History’.

In the inaugural speech, Hasan said Bangladesh is moving forward indomitably to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the dynamic leadership of his (Bangabandhu) worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Today, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the model of democracy, development and the spirit of the Liberation War. There is no other alternative to Sheikh Hasina to face the anti-liberation forces and their collaborators when they boast in Bangladesh,” said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.

The minister said it is easy to say or write. But it is difficult to paint as ‘first you have to capture in the heart, then you have to draw’, he added.

He thanked the artists and the organizers for the paintings and the exhibition.

Cosmos Gallery director Selina Anayet addressed the inaugural function as special guest with UNB chairman Anayetullha Khan in the chair.

Thirty-one paintings of 31 artists are being exhibited from 10 am to 5pm everyday.
