DHAKA, Dec 12, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) authorities have taken all-out preparation to celebrate the 50th victory day of the country on December 16 in a befitting manner.

This year, the celebration will be confined in limited scale considering the COVID-19 pandemic, said a DU press release here today.

The programmes will commence with hoisting of the national flag atop the main buildings of the university including VC’s Bhaban around 6:15 am.

Later, University teachers, students, officers and employees will converge on the premises of Aparajeya Bangla and march forward the National Mausoleum at Savar in the morning to pay tributes to Liberation War martyrs.

Like previous years, Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) will organize a photo exhibition at Teacher-Student Center (TSC) on the campus.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the exhibition.

Special prayers will also be offered after the Zuhr prayers at the central mosque of the university and other places of worship seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs who embraced martyrdom for achieving independence.
