Human chain in Netrakona against vandalising Bangabandhu’s sculpture

NETRAKONA, Dec 12, 2020 (BSS) – Local government officials including district level officers today formed a human chain in front of Netrakona municipality in protest against vandalism of Bangabandhu’s sculpture in Khustia.

The human chain lasted about half an hour which was followed by a protest rally at local public hall here.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kazi Abdur Rahman, the rally was addressed, among others, by District and Session Judge Mohammad Sahjahan Kabir, Judge of District Women and Child Repression Prevention Court Mohammad Iftekhar–Bin- Aziz, Police Super Mohammad Akber Ali Munshi, Civil Surgeon Dr. Salim Mia, Principal of Netrakona Government Women College Mohammad Sirajul Islam, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture Extension Mohammad Habibur Rahman and Executive Engineer of Netrakona Roads and Highways Department Mohammad Hamidul Islam.

Speakers strongly protested the vandalism of Bangabandhu’s sculpture and demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits involved in vandalism.
